On Friday, April 18, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in match number 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. However, both teams are coming off similar results and will be hoping to continue the momentum going forward.

As the two skippers walked out for the toss, it was Shreyas Iyer, captain of PBKS, who decided to bowl first. His decision came after continuous drizzle delayed the toss and led to the game getting reduced to 14-overs per side game. “We will bowl first. It's a good ground to chase and it's a rain interrupted game, overs have been reduced, will have a fair idea of how the wickert will play and that was always the plan,” Iyer said.

Glenn Maxwell misses out; Marcus Stoinis and Harpreet Brar named in PBKS XI

When asked of the team combination, Iyer said, “Stoinis comes in for Maxwell and Harpreet Brar is in. We need to have the right players at the right place, especially the angles.” On the other hand, the hosts also called for a change as Devdutt Padikkal was dropped from the XI.
