In the 13th clash of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, reigning champions, Gujarat Titans are all set to take over their opponents, Kolkata Knight Riders. The Titans’ skipper, Hardik Pandya, isn’t playing today, and Rashid Khan has taken over the captaincy role for today. Gujarat, who have won the toss, have chosen to bat first.

Addressing Hardik Pandya's absence, Rashid said, “We would like to bat first, looks like a fresh wicket. Just unwell slightly, don't want to take risks with him. As a team, we will try to play good cricket. Just one change, Vijay Shankar is in for Hardik."  

The match then turned into a thrilling encounter between the Kolkata-based franchise and Gujarat Titans as the guests took down their opponents by three wickets. Rinku Singh’s remarkable knock led the team to the team’s second back-to-back victory. The Titans had set a target of 205 for the KKR team, which they chased down in stunning fashion.

In the first innings, Vijay Shankar’s fifty helped Gujarat cross the 200 mark and score 204 runs in total.  The hosts finished on a high note as they scored a stunning 45 in the last two overs.

After a decent batting effort,  KKR needed 29 runs in the last over, which Riku chased brilliantly by smashing five sixes.  Rinku Singh, who clearly emerged as the star of the match remained pulled off a remarkable 48* off 21 with a combination of one four and 6 sixes.
