On Sunday, June 1, in the crucial fixture in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the table-toppers, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are locking horns with five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, both teams will go all out and will be vying to get the last laugh as the winner tonight will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the summit clash on June 3.
As the two skippers walked out for the toss, it was PBKS skipper, Shreyas Iyer, who returned victorious and elected to bowl first. Notably, the decision from Iyer came seeing the overcast conditions prevalent in Ahmedabad. “We are going to bowl first. Slightly overcast and the wicket was under the covers yesterday. Based on these, we are going to bowl first,” Iyer said.
Yuzvendra Chahal comes in place of Harpreet Brar for PBKS’ Qualifier 2 vs MI
As the PBKS side is coming of a defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), they have also been boasted by the inclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal, who returns after recovering from a wrist injury. He replaced Harpreet Brar in the XI, who is back in the impact player list.
On the other hand, the former champions, MI also made a change in their XI as they called in Reece Topley in place of Richard Gleeson, who was roped in after unavailability of Corbin Bosch in the playoffs.
