On Friday, May 2, the Gujarat Titans (GT) are hosting IPL 2024 runners-up, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 51 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, both teams have had a contrasting season thus far, but both are coming off contrasting results in their respective previous matches. But as they take the field once more, GT are fighting for a spot in the final four, whereas a loss for SRH will knock them out of the IPL 2025.
As the two skippers walked out for the toss, the SRH skipper, Pat Cummins, decided to bowl first. “We will have a bowl. You never really what you will get. Sometimes it is better to bat at night. We won our first game at CSK's venue. Hopefully the trend continues here as well,” Cummins said at the toss.

However, the Pat Cummins-led SRH will be fighting to stay in the competition, GT on the other hand, will aim to consolidate their position in the top four. Speaking at the toss, the GT skipper siad, “We would have bowled first as well. Looks like a good wicket. Last game here we played against Mumbai, we batted first as well. The season has been pretty good for us. Nothing changes us for us,” Gill said.
The GT opener also confirmed a change in the side, forcing Karim Janat out of the XI after an expensive spell against Rajasthan Royals in his debut game. “We have one change. Gerald Coetzee comes in for Karim Janat,” Gill said. Bringing in Coetzee could give a boost to the Titans' line-up as they are eager to showcase their dominance in the game and rise from the loss they suffered at the hands of the Rajasthan Royals .
