Team India is locking horns against Bangladesh in the second Test, starting today (December 22) at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The Men in Blue are already leading the series 1-0 after winning the first match by 188 runs.

 

What was shocking to everyone was that the player of match from the first Test was left out when Team India’s Playing XI was announced at the toss earlier this morning. The 28-year-old who made his all-round performance count in the first Test after a crucial knock of 40 with the bat, followed by a career best-figures of 5/40. He also went on to scalp three wickets in the second innings.

For the second Test, the KL Rahul-led side went with three seamers and two spinners in Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin. Yadav was dropped to make way from left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat, who is playing his first match after twelve long years.

 

Talking about Kuldeep Yadav’s exclusion from the XI, stand-in skipper KL Rahul said, “We made one change - Kuldeep misses out and Unadkat comes in. Hard to leave out Kuldeep but Jaydev gets his opportunity today.”
