In the first match of double-header Sunday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are taking on former champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) in a reverse fixture at the Wankhede Stadium on April 27. However, both teams are coming into this match on the back of contrasting results, LSG will continue to double the trouble, after coming out on top against the Hardik Pandya-led side in Lucknow.

As the two skippers walked out for toss, it was the LSG skipper, Rishabh Pant who came out on top, winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. “We are bowling first. In a day game you want to utilize the surface. We are in a good space and personally Its easier to put the team ahead, makes it easier,” Pant said.

Shardul Thakur out from LSG’s playing XI; Mayank Yadav comes in

When inquired of his team combination in the match against MI, Pant confirmed a change which saw Shardul Thakur sit out, making way for youngster Mayank Yadav, who is coming after completing his rehabilitation forllowing an injury he sustained last year.

“One change. Shardul is out and Mayank Yadav is in,” Pant said. On the other hand, MI skipper, Hardik Pandya also confirmed two changes in their XI. While Karn Sharma was recalled, replacing Mitchell Santner, who is recovering from a niggle, Corbin Bosch has also been handed his debut, coming out in place of Vignesh Puthur.
