Sunrisers Hyderabad allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is hopeful that his team can still make into the playoffs of IPL 2025 despite being in the eighth spot in the points table on the half-way stage of the tournament. Reddy took an example of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’ 2024 campaign where they made one of the greatest comebacks in IPL history after being at the bottom of the table halfway through the tournament winning the last six matches back-to-back.

SRH are still alive in the ongoing IPL season after their five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings at M.A Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, April 27. “The thought for the team, and it went pretty well. It is taking it match by match and proud that we won this match and hopefully the coming matches as well. (on his stand with Kamindu) We were talking about playing a normal game and not looking to hit the big shots,” Nitish Kumar Reddy was quoted as saying by News18.

“Last year, the same situation RCB came up and won 7 in a row. Why not us this year? It is putting in 100 per cent, and the rest we will see,” he further added.

CSK on verge of getting knocked after defeat against SRH

Talking about the match, Chennai Super Kings went on to suffer their fourth defeat of the season at their home ground Chepauk and are on the verge of getting knocked out from the playoffs race with seven losses so far in IPL 2025. Now CSK can finish with maximum 14 points after the end of the league stage and will have to depend on others to qualify for top four

Batting first, CSK were bowled out for 154 runs in 19.5 overs with Dewald Brevis top scoring with 42 runs off 25 balls. Harshal Patel shone with the figures of 4/28. In reply, Ishan Kishan was top scorer for SRH with 44(34) runs, while Kamindu Mendis (32* off 22) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (19* off 13) gave finishing touches as SRH chased the winning target in 18.4 overs losing five wickets.
