Kolkata Knight Riders are hosting Gujarat Titans at the Eden Gardens in a reverse fixture of the Indian Premier League 2023. However, what came as a surprise was Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans not naming in-form batter Shubman Gill in the Playing XI. In GT’s last match, Gill was substituted despite being named in the XI with Josh Little.

The Pandya-led side although did not start with Gill, he has been named as the five substitutes on the bench. It is to be noted that Gill can come into play as an Impact Player now. The Indian batter is the top scorer for Gujarat Titans in the ongoing season with 284 runs.

Earlier in the match, Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited the Nitish Rana-led side to bat first. The two-time champions posted 179/7 in the 20 overs, courtesy Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s knock of 81. However, his crucial went in vain later in match as Vijay Shankar’s cameo and Shubman Gill’s 35-ball 49 helped the side win by seven wickets.
