On Sunday, April 14, Cheteshwar Pujara took to his official X account to announce that he is looking forward to joining “#SupperKings” this season. It raised speculation among the fans about whether the Indian cricketer was talking about joining his former IPL team Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing season or something else, which he might answer in due course.

Notably, Cheteshwar Pujara was signed by Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2021, but he didn’t get to play a single match for the franchise during that season. Despite that, the Indian Test great got the opportunity to hold aloft the IPL trophy after CSK defeated KKR by 27 runs in the final of the 2021 season.

Three years after his association with Chennai Super Kings came to an end, Cheteshwar Pujara sent out a peculiar post on X, which read, “#SupperKings looking forward to join you guys this season!” It led to the fans flooding his comments section, with most of them asking him about what is “SupperKings.”

Here are some of the fan reactions on X after Cheteshwar Pujara sent out a peculiar post on the platform:

Moreover, Cheteshwar Pujara last played a match in the IPL way back in 2014 for Punjab Kings, formerly called Kings XI Punjab. In his career at the franchise T20 tournament, he made 29 appearances from 2010-2014, scoring 390 runs at an average of 20.53, with a strike rate of just 99.74.

The 36-year-old last played for India in the disastrous World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final against Australia last summer at The Oval in London. Since then, he hasn’t been picked by the Indian selectors to represent the country in the Test format.
