The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 43 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Both the teams enter this fixture on the back of a contrasting result in their previous match. While the Delhi Capitals registered a four-run win over the Gujarat Titans, the Hardik Pandya-led side lost to table topper Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

But as the Capitals host Mumbai Indians in their second home fixture in Delhi, they will continue to miss two of their key players in David Warner and Ishant Sharma. On the eve of the IPL 2024 clash, DC Director of Cricket Operations, Sourav Ganguly addressed the media and confirmed that the duo will be unavailable for the upcoming fixture.

“Both David Warner and Ishant Sharma are injured and are unavailable for tomorrow’s game,” Ganguly said at the pre-match press conference on Friday, April 26. It is to be noted that both players missed DC’s previous match against GT. While Warner picked up a thumb injury in a match against LSG, Ishant Sharma has been facing issues with his back.

This adds to the worries after Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2024 due to a hamstring injury. The injury forced him to leave for Australia after DC’s defeat against MI at the Wankhede Stadium.

Speaking of the Rishabh Pant-led side, the DC are placed at sixth spot in the IPL 2024 standings with four wins from nine games. Their recent win game in their last match against the Shubman Gill-led side at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
