Will Jacks smashes five sixes in a row during Vitality Blast 2023; video goes viral

Surrey will next play Somerset on June 30 at the Kennington Oval, while Middlesex will lock horns with Essex at the County Ground on June 30.

England and Surrey all-rounder Will Jacks wreaked havoc in Vitality T20 Blast match against Middlesex on June 22, Thursday. The 24-year-old emulated KKR batter Rinku Singh’s IPL heroics as he smashed five consecutive sixes off Middlesex leg-spinner Luke Hollman.

 

The England all-rounder, who opened the inning for his side reached his half-century in the ninth over of the inning. Who would know what was next as the batter smashed consecutive sixes in the 11th over off Hollman. On the first delivery of the 11th over, Jacks pulled it massively over deep mid-wicket. He followed the next full outside off for another six. He continued to throttle as he completed a hattrick of sixes on the next delivery over outside off. The next two came over deep extra cover and over long on region.

Video of the same is now doing rounds on social media as Will Jacks added 31 runs in an over off Luke Hollman. However, Surrey batter’s knock of 96 off 45 deliveries went in  vain as his side ended up on the losing side.

 

Talking of the match, Middlesex invited the Chris Jordan-led side to bat first. Surrey posted 252/7 in the 20 overs, courtesy brilliant half-centuries from the Surrey openers in Will Jacks (96) and Laurie Evans (85). But an all-round effort from the Stephen Eskinazi-led side and a captain’s knock of 73 off 39 deliveries helped the side win the match by seven wickets.
