Real Madrid is set to take on Getafe at the Coliseum on April 23 in what will be a very important fixture in context of the LaLiga title race. Table-toppers, FC Barcelona have already won their match against Mallorca and are currently boasting a seven-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table. In order to remain in the hunt for the Spanish domestic league cup, it is extremely important that Real Madrid secure a win tonight. But one telling question that pops up before this fixture is the availability of Real Madrid’s star attacker Kylian Mbappe, who was seen in the stands during Madrid last LaLiga match against Athletic Bilbao during the weekend.

Two different reasons had kept Mbappe on the stand for Madrid’s last game, one of which was the one-game suspension he picked up for a rash challenge during Real Madrid’s match against Alaves. Post that, Madrid faced off Arsenal in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final, where they were knocked out by a 5-1 aggregate scoreline but another issue for the club was Kylian Mbappe picking up an ankle problem during the match and being replaced by Brahim Diaz.

Endrick reported to replace Mbappe in upcoming match

In the recent pre-match conference, Real Madrid gaffer Carlo Ancelotti has clarified the extent of Mbappe’s injury and has said that Mbappe should be fit in time for the weekend Copa Del Rey final clash against FC Barcelona. Another player who was given the green-light for Saturday’s final against Barca was Ferland Mendy, who has been out since mid-March due to muscle problem.

Ancelotti has confirmed that these two important players will be available for the match against Barcelona, however they will not be available for the upcoming LaLiga fixture against Getafe. This means that Ancelotti is most likely to deploy David Alaba in the left-back position with young Brazilian Endrick likely getting a start in Mbappe’s absence.
