Riot has officially announced Valorant Mobile, one of the highly anticipated titles, in partnership with Chinese developer LIGHTSPEED Studios. The game will launch first in China, with pre-registrations available on the Huawei App Store. The developers will announce the global release plans later. However, since Riot partnered with the Chinese developer LIGHTSPEED Studios, it raises a big question - Will Valorant Mobile release in India? Previously, the Government of India banned many games with connections to China, including popular titles like PUBG Mobile and Free Fire.
Riot officially announces Valorant Mobile
On 21 April 2025, Riot announced Valorant Mobile in partnership with Lightspeed Studios through their social media handles. China will get the first release of the highly anticipated title, and the pre-registrations started on April 21 on the Huawei App Store.
Riot announced the Valorant Mobile, saying, “It's really happening. VALORANT Mobile has been announced with our partner LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS, and we're bringing it to China. We're excited to bring VALORANT Mobile to as many players as possible, but we're starting in China and taking it from there. We will, of course, update you as our plans develop further.”
Will Valorant Mobile launch in India?
Riot Games will announce the global release plans for Valorant Mobile after its launch in China, so it is still unclear whether Valorant Mobile will release in India or not. They have partnered with LIGHTSPEED Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games. Notably, the Government of India banned many games in the past that were linked with Tencent, including PUBG Mobile. To release games in India, many companies now avoid partnerships with Chinese firms. This raises questions about how Riot will handle the Valorant Mobile launch in India with a Chinese developer involved. As of now, gamers will have to wait for the official release plan from Riot, which is expected to be announced in the coming months.
