The Iowa star guard Caitlin Clark has brought attention to women's college basketball with her sensational game, however, many current and former women's players criticized the 22-year-old guard for her controversial on-court antics. Popular golf influencer Paige Spiranac has c ome in support of the Iowa guard following the "hate towards Caitlin Clark from current and former players."
The NCAA's all-time points leader in women's basketball failed to win the NCAA title for the second consecutive year after losing back-to-back finals. Many former and current players criticized Caitlin while NBA legend Paul Pierce, who lauded Clark after Iowa's win against LSU, was subjected to criticism online for his comments, which many considered sexist.
Amid the criticism faced by Caitlin Clark, former professional golfer and current social media influencer Paige Spiranac, who is known for posting raunchy golf content on her social media handles, defended the Iowa guard.

Spiranac took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle and wrote, "The hate towards Caitlin Clark from current and former players is disappointing but not surprising. Women can be absolutely vicious to other women while also preaching empowering the next generation. I’ve seen it first hand but we must remember a rising tide lifts all boats."
After Iowa Hawkeyes lost the NCAA women's championship game 75-87 to the South Carolina Gamecocks, the champion team's coach Dawn Staley gave a shout-out to Clark. Staley said, "I want to personally thank Caitlin Clark for lifting up our sport. She carried a heavy load for our sport... She's gonna lift that league (WNBA) up... You are one of the GOATs of our game and we appreciate you."
On Paige's tweet, a user asked the golf influencer about her take on Dawn Staley's comment. Paige wrote, "I thought her comments after the game were supportive and kind! Caitlin has handled all this attention and pressure with so much grace and it was nice of Staley to acknowledge her impact."
The Iowa star, Caitlin Clark, and her LSU rival Angel Reese have both declared for the WNBA draft for the next season.
