India registered a thrilling victory to clinch the second Test match and the series against Bangladesh. With this win, KL Rahul, the Indian skipper for the series, registered his first Test series win as the captain. The 2-0 series victory has also helped India consolidate its place among the top two spots of the ICC World Test Championship table.

Now the Indian team is placed second, behind Australia, with 99 points from eight wins, four losses, and two draws. The Men in Blue have a Winning Percentage of 58.93 along with five points deducted in penalties. Whereas, Bangladesh continued their run at the bottom of the table with just 16 points from 12 games which include one win, one draw, and 10 defeats.

Going back to the India-Bangladesh Test Match, the visitors reduced Bangladesh to 227, thanks to a brilliant bowling display where Umesh Yadav and R Ashwin picked up four wickets each. Then KL Rahul’s men put up a 314-run total thanks to Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. Pant missed a brilliant century by seven runs while Iyer continued his brilliant 2022 season by scoring a crucial 87.

In their second innings, Bangladesh only managed to set a 145 target in the fourth innings but got off to a brilliant start with the ball as they reduced India to 37-4. Mehidy Hasan Miraz went on to pick an amazing five-wicket haul to increase the troubles for the Indians. But Iyer along with R Ashwin batted incredibly to post a 71-run partnership and win the match by three wickets.
