The final of the third edition of Women’s Premier League (WPL) was nothing short of a humdinger as inaugural title winners, Mumbai Indians Women defeated Delhi Capitals Women by eight runs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, March 18 to lift their second title.
With the Capitals winning the toss and inviting the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side to put the score first, MI Women posted 149 runs at the loss of seven wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Their skipper led from the front, playing a crucial knock of 66 off 44 deliveries. During the run-chase, Meg Lanning-led DC Women looked in good touch with Marizanne Kapp playing a gritty knock, but eventually fell short by eight runs. Nat Sciver-Brunt starred with the ball for MI, picking up three wickets at an economy of 7.50.
Harmanpreet Kaur won the Player of the Match, whereas Nat Sciver-Brunt’s consistent performance throughout the season helped her win the Player of the Tournament award. Here in this article, we’ll list down all the award winners of the 2025 edition of the tournament.
