On Monday, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate noted that the chargesheet had not yet been given cognizance and asked the attorney to complete the paperwork to request a certified copy of the mentioned chargesheet. The court set June 27 for consideration of the chargesheet earlier, on the previous date. Two FIRs were filed against Brij Bhushan in connection with the wrestlers' protest and their claims of sexual harassment.
One was filed in Patiala House Court under the POCSO Act based on a single minor wrestler’s complaint, and the other was filed in Rouse Avenue Court under the MP/MLA court on the basis of multiple minor wrestlers' complaints.
Regarding both FIRs, the Delhi Police submitted its final report to the relevant courts. Delhi Police filed a cancellation report in Patiala House Court, citing the absence of evidence to support it in the POCSO case. On June 15, 2023, Delhi Police submitted a report in which they suggested that the POCSO case against Brij Bhushan be dropped.
Anurag Thakur, the Union Sports Minister, previously met with a team of wrestlers who were in protest and gave them his word that the chargesheet for the FIRs against the WFI head would be submitted by June 15. Thakur also said that the wrestling federation's internal complaints committee will be established and led by a woman.
