Rajasthan Royals star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has impressed everyone with his spectacular batting prowess in the IPL 2023 as he was the leading run scorer for his franchise. After the IPL, Team India will face Australia in the World Test Championship 2023 Final and the in-form RR opener has replaced CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad as a stand-by opener in the Indian team for the WTC final.

The WTC Final between India and Australia is scheduled to take place from June 7 to 12 at The Oval in London. The 21-year-old Mumbai opener had a staggering IPL 2023 season as the youngster scored 625 runs in 14 matches for Rajasthan Royals at an average of 48.07 with a hundred and five half-centuries. Jaiswal has scored 404 runs in five matches in the Ranji Trophy at an average of 45 with a hundred and a half-century.

The 26-year-old CSK opener, Ruturaj Gaikwad informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)  that he will be getting married on June 3-4 and will be unable to travel to the UK for the WTC Final. Meanwhile, Yashasvi has already begun practice with the red ball at Bombay Gymkhana with the High-Performance director at RR, Zubin Bharucha on Sunday morning and will travel to London on the same day.

The Indian team have left for London in batches as the ones who reached there already, have begun training including Virat Kohli, Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur among others. India and Mumbai Indians captain  Rohit Sharma and opener Ishan Kishan will leave for London on May 28 while in-form batter Suryakumar Yadav will depart on May 30 with Mohammed Shami, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja, who will play the IPL final on Sunday.
