The Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions have come to an end. The much-anticipated event concluded in Bengaluru on Sunday. After the event, all the teams now have their set of players with them with whom they will set out to compete in IPL 2022. What makes IPL 2022 all the more interesting is that there are going to be ten teams this time around. And as one witnessed in the auctions itself, having ten teams makes it a different equation altogether, the same is expected in the tournament.

The Lucknow Super Giants are one of the two new teams to enter the competition and they would be very pleased with the squad they have managed to put together prior to their inaugural season. With KL Rahul at the helm, the squad boasts of players like Quinton de Kock, Manish Pandey, Jason Holder, Mark Wood, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi among other match-winners.

Once the bidding war was over and Lucknow had its 21-member contingent ready, skipper Rahul shared a handwritten image of the list of players in the Lucknow team. He posted the picture on Instagram with the caption: "A New journey ? @lucknowsupergiants." However, what drew the attention of the fans was not only the post but New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham's hilarious comment.

Neesham, who went unsold twice in the auctions, before being bagged by the Rajasthan Royals in the final accelerated auction list, did not have anything to say about the squad but simply left a remark about the picture. "You hold the phone in your mouth to take this?" he wrote.

With the auction done and dusted, fans have started looking forward to the 15th season of the tournament. However, the official schedule is still not out with it being reported that the T20 tournament might commence in the last week of March.

As far as international cricket is concerned, the Indian team is currently hosting West Indies and after completing a clean sweep in the ODIs, the Rohit Sharma-led side will take on the Men from the Caribbean in a three-match T20I series starting February 16.
