Former England spinner and cricket analyst Monty Panesar feels that Rajasthan Royals should rope in Yuvraj Singh in their management to yield better results from the team. The cricket veteran's comments came after Rajasthan suffered their second consecutive loss, and fifth out of the seven games played in the UAE leg of IPL 2021.

RR lost to KKR by 86 runs to end their disappointing campaign. They won five games and lost nine in the overall 14 games played in the season. Panesar believes that the performance could have improved had the side included Yuvraj to assist Sangakkara as Yuvi is an Indian and the players would have understood and connected more with his help.

Yuvraj Singh as consultant would have been perfect for Rajasthan Royals: Monty Panesar

"Rajasthan have got promising domestic youngsters but they need someone to guide them. Someone that could take the burden of Kumar Sangakkara so that the Sri Lankan can be the head coach... Someone like Yuvraj Singh could play the role. He has been so successful for India, he has won numerous games, he knows how to win a game, he knows how to build an innings, he has been successful in T20 cricket. Why has he not been drafted midway in IPL 2021," said Monty Panesar in the post match discussion with SportsTiger.

"Yuvraj Singh would have been perfect for Rajasthan Royals, especially for the last half of the ongoing season working with them as a consultant. This is because at sometimes language is the barrier, culture is the barrier. While Sangakkara is a Sri Lankan, Yuvraj is an Indian and better understands the mindset of the players. Rajasthan Royals need to think out of the box," he added.

Shivam Mavi takes 4-fer as KKR register convincing win over RR

Riding on a sensational bowling effort, Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday outplayed Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah. Batting first KKR scored 171/4 and bundled out RR for 85 runs. Rahul Tewatia (44 off 36) and Shivam Dube (18) were the only RR batters to score in double digits. Meanwhile, Shivam Mavi returned figures of 4/21 and Lockie Ferguson took 3 for 18.
