India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma are divorced, claimed a report from ABP News. The divorce news of both couples had been making rounds since January 2025, but there was no confirmation then. Back in December 2020, Chahal and Dhanashree got hitched in an intimate ceremony in Gurgaon, now called Gurugram. Their love story began during the COVID-19 lockdown when Chahal showed interest in taking online dance classes from Dhanashree, who is a passionate dancer and dentist. Their virtual classes brought them close and Chahal proposed to her for marriage. After Dhanashree’s nod, both eventually made their relationship formal through a wedding.
As per ABP News, the final hearing and all formalities related to the divorce of both were conducted at the Bandra Family Court at 11 AM on February 20. During the hearing, the judge also ordered both to attend a counseling session. Before their separation news surfaced, Dhanashree posted an image with a cryptic message on Instagram and wrote, “From Stressed To Blessed – Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying, or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good."
However, Dhanashree’s post faced ire from netizens as they feel she isn’t revealing facts clearly to gain public attention through Chahal’s popularity. Dhanashree has often been a target for social media users. In 2024, she got trolled for her photo with her choreographer-friend Pratik Utekar. Following the incident, she took a break from her social media handles but also returned and slammed the netizens later. Recently, there were also reports of Dhanashree asking Chahal for an alimony of INR 60 Crore as they worked on getting their divorce finalised.

Yuzvendra Chahal will be seen donning Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) jersey next month in IPL. During the IPL 2025 auction in November, he became a member of PBKS for a massive sum of INR 18 Crore. He was a vital part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) from 2022 to 2024, but the franchise didn’t retrain him for further seasons.
The leggie is the second-leading wicket-taker for the Royals, claiming 66 wickets in 46 matches at an economy of 8.41. The 34-year-old played his last competitive game for Haryana against Jammu & Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024-25 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
