The third and final ODI of the three-match ODI series between India and England is being played at Old Trafford in Manchester. Like the first two games, India’s bowling attack did pretty well to bowl out England, and that too within 46 overs. On the back of Hardik Pandya’s 4-for and some good support from Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal, India bundled England for 259.
India got early two wickets in the form of Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root as Mohammed Siraj dismissed both the batters for a duck in his very first over. England fought back in the middle overs with captain Jos Buttler leading the charge and scoring a half-century. Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Craig Overton, and David Willey also chipped in. But India kept the scoring rate in check with regular wickets.
Hardik Pandya ran through the middle order while Yuzvendra Chahal sent the lower order packing. With Indian bowlers once again putting on a dominant show, the mood in the camp was all positive. Chahal who is famous for his pranks also looked in a good mood as he tried a stunt during England’s batting. The leg-spinner tried to balance the bat as Joe Root did in the New Zealand Test series.
The leggie got some success as the bat stood still for a while. The picture of the same was shared widely on social media. “Yuzvendra Chahal trying to stable the bat like Joe Root on the pitch,” wrote one user while sharing the picture.
India fumbling again!
The same old story continued for India when they started their chase of 260 in the third ODI. The top order once again failed as Reece Topley got rid of the top three batters. Topley first dismissed Dhawan who uppishly drove a ball into Jason Roy’s hands.
The left-arm pacer then got rid of Rohit Sharma who nicked an outside off-stump delivery into Joe Root’s hands at first slip. The third scalp for Topley was Kohli who once again edged a ball in the corridor of uncertainty into the wicketkeeper’s gloves.
However, the fifth wicket partnership between Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya has helped India come back into the match.
