Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player, marking his second consecutive MVP award. He joins an elite, historic group as only the 14th player in league history to win back-to-back MVP titles. At just 27 years old, Alexander becomes only the seventh player in the last 40 years to win multiple MVP awards before his 28th birthday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played another great season for the 64-18 Thunder, who posted the NBA’s best record for the second year in a row. He averaged a career-high 31.1 points per game, second in the league, while shooting a career-best 55.3% from the field. He also scored a career-high 6.6 assists per game.

He led the league with 175 clutch points. He also topped the NBA with 16 go-ahead clutch field goals and scored a league-best clutch plus-minus of plus-93. These factors have really made him the face of the NBA. Over his career spanning 530 games and 521 starts with both the Los Angeles Clippers and the Thunder, he has averaged 25.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds.

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar had a historic 2024-25 campaign too as he played an integral part in Thunders winning their title. He shot 51.9% overall, 37.5% on 3-pointers and 89.8% from 3-point range and a solid 89.8% on free throws. His effective field goal percentage (56.9%) was a career high as he averaged at least 30 ppg for the third straight season. He was also named to the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, was named the 2024-25 NBA MVP and also cracked the All-NBA 1st Team. Although in the previous season he was eighth in the Clutch Player of the Season, this year he has already grabbed the award.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder will lock horns with the Spurs in the Western Conference finals, starting with Game 1 on Monday night in Oklahoma City.
