On the special occasion of International Women's Day, the makers of Shabaash Mithu dropped a brand-new poster. The biopic on Indian cricket team captain Mithali Raj will be released this year. Taapsee Pannu has been assigned to play the lead role i.e. of Mithali Raj. The production house, Viacom18 Studios, tweeted to launch the new poster.

The new poster shows the back of Mithali Raj's jersey. "With the swing of her bat she changed the game of cricket and broke stereotypes. She continues to inspire us and many more. This women's day we are cheering for the front runners in the fight to #BreakTheBias," tweeted Viacom18 Studios on Twitter.

Cricket+Bollywood=Deadliest combo

Indian audience loves the blend of Bollywood and cricket. This gave rise to a new trend, biopic on cricketers. The concept of making movies around cricket has always worked wonders for makers but the trend got a massive boost after one of the most loved cricketers in India, MS Dhoni's biopic, MS Dhoni-The Untold Story, was released. The story of a young boy from the streets of Bihar (now Jharkhand) to becoming one of the legends of the game earned a lot of praise from the audience.

This tempted the movie makers to come up with more such stories. A documentary cum biopic on Sachin Tendulkar, Sachin-A billion dreams, was also released and was loved by the audience. More such biopic followed and plenty of them are still in line. The latest biopic to rock the theatres was '83- The Film', a biopic on Kapil Dev's 1983 heroics.

Now, after coming up with the stories of male cricketers, the makers are focusing on female cricketers. And when it comes to modern-day legends in Women's cricket, Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami are the two names that pop up. And as expected, a biopic on both is ready to rock the theatres pretty soon. While Raj's biopic has been titled 'Shabash Mithu', Jhulan Goswami's story will be told under the name 'Chakda Xpress'. Virat Kohli's wife and Indian actress Anushka Sharma will play Goswami in her biopic.
