The Women’s Premier League 2024 auction saw Australia’s Annabel Sutherland and uncapped player Kashvee Gautam bag the highest bid of INR 200 Lakh, today (December 9) in Mumbai. The 2024 edition of the tournament is expected to start in February next year with likes of Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, battling for the title.
The first edition of WPL 2023 saw the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians take home the title, after defeating Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in the final match. Coming back to 2024, a total of 165 cricketers, including 61 overseas players will be part of the auction on Saturday. These players will be eyeing one of the 30 slots that is up for grabs, which include nine vacancies for overseas players.
