As he chases his boxing glory, it’s essential to know some intriguing facts related to him.

What is Christian Mbilli’s nationality?

Christian Mbilli was born in Cameroon in 1995. In 2006, he moved to France after his mother decided to leave Cameroon to shift to the European nation to explore better opportunities in the developed country. It is said that Mbilli’s mother fell in love with a French civil engineer and when their affection for each other reached the peak level, Mbilli’s mother took the difficult decision to leave her homeland.

However, Mbilli’s mother had to leave him in Cameroon for a brief period to arrange paperwork to take him to France. Finally, in 2006, he reached France but during his schooling days, his physique made him a target of others to contest against fighters. The massive moment in his life came when he encountered his former school supervisor, who invited him to join and learn as a boxer. Discussing his life-changing moment in an interview, Mbilli said, “Honestly, I thought it would be an opportunity to perfect my defense, something I needed to improve. I entered and immediately felt at home. It completely changed my life because it was as if I had found my calling. That’s what I wanted to do, and the results appeared from one day to the next."

Working with his ex-school supervisor, he yielded solid results in five months as he got the third spot in the French Championships. In 2016, he also represented France at the Rio Olympics. Mbilli is currently a naturalised citizen of Canada, where he moved a few years ago. Currently, he is residing in Montreal.
