Australian wrestler Grayson Waller, 35, has revealed that a short backstage conversation with WWE legend John Cena has changed his perspective about his spot in WWE. During his interview on a podcast show with Chris Van Vliet, Waller mentioned his dream match in WWE, his pro-wrestling start, and other aspects. He recalled how Cena said it was a privilege to get into wrestling in front of a huge audience. Waller further mentioned that his roster is full and is now doing his best to make up for most of the opportunity.
"He [Cena] got up and he said something that really stuck with me, where he talked about, like, you know, you don’t have to do the Netflix break promo. You don’t have to wrestle before the show. You don’t have to do the dark match. It’s like — you get to. Like, you get to three minutes, say whatever you want on Netflix. You get to wrestle before the show when they’re the hottest, when they’re the most excited, and you get to wrestle another great [Superstar]," Waller mentioned about Cena's words.
Grayson Waller mentioned about joining A-Town Down Under squad on WWE RAW
During the podcast interview, apart from talking about John Cena, with whom he shared the ring in 2023, Grayson Waller was questioned over the state of his A-Town Down Under squad. According to the former NXT star, he has no idea what that is. Recalling Austin Theory, Waller asserted that it was a good thing the "big jacked idiot" was no longer around.
"Being a guy who was in a tag team for a long time, getting to work with them, it's a dream. They've been through everything that's ever happened. So I’m trying to learn all I can from them, because a lot of the vets in the locker room, they don't want to hand back down, they want to protect their spot. New Day are great guys," Waller said.
