In a special live announcement on their YouTube channel, WWE confirmed that Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will be hosting the 43rd edition of their annual sports and entertainment extravaganza WrestleMania in 2027. This will be the first-time in the history of WWE that their biggest Premium Live Event (PLE) of the year is going to head outside of the North American continent, specifically the USA and Canada.

The live news conference was held in the presence of WWE COO Triple H and Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh in Las Vegas, the city that hosted WrestleMania 41 earlier this year apart from being scheduled to welcome fans to WrestleMania’s 42nd edition next year. They stood alongside WWE legends and current superstars, namely The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Liv Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer, Bianca Belair, and Logan Paul.

WWE is regularly hosting PLEs in Saudi Arabia as part of their 10-year partnership

As part of their 10-year partnership signed with the Saudi Arabia General Entertainment Authority, WWE is bringing their PLEs to the country on a regular basis, but the stakes couldn’t be any higher with the arrival of WrestleMania to the Middle Eastern shores as part of the Riyadh Season. Also, WWE has already committed to host one of the biggest PLEs of the year, the 39th annual Royal Rumble on January 31, 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It is important to note that New Orleans was announced the city to host WrestleMania 42 earlier this year when The Rock made an appearance on WWE SmackDown in the city in February. With the venue of WrestleMania 42 changing to Las Vegas this summer, it was expected that the 43rd edition of the showcase of the immortals would go to New Orleans, but now, this won’t be the case as Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, managed to win the bidding war.

John Cena, the record-setting 17-time WWE Champion, has already championed the cause of London to host WrestleMania in 2023 during his appearance at the Money in the Bank PLE in the city.
