Virat Kohli is undoubtedly one of the most admired sportspersons globally, and despite going through a lean phase and quitting captaincy from all formats of the game, there is no decline in his stature. New findings related to the former RCB skippers will surely make his fans happy and reaffirm his dominance in the country when it comes to sports.
According to Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, Virat Kohli tops the chart of most famous sportspersons in the first month of 2022. While Kohli is leading the way, his predecessor (MS Dhoni) is second, and Kohl's successor (Rohit Sharma) is ranked third. Kohli is widely regarded as one of the most lethal and talented players of this generation, due to which he enjoys massive admiration amongst cricket fans. At present, the dynamic batter is the 2nd top-seeded batter in the 50-over format of the game while standing 7th in Test rankings. Kohli is the 10th top-ranked batter in the shortest format of the game.
While Kohli leads the chart, his idol, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has been ranked fourth. Although Sachin retired nearly a decade ago, he still enjoys the privilege of fans' admiration and massive following from cricket lovers in the country. Sachin Tendulkar, popularly known as 'God of Cricket', retired in 2013 after achieving several feats, the most notable of them being the record of 100 hundreds in International cricket. He is also the leading run-scorer in ODIs and Test cricket.

The list follows legends from other games like Football, Badminton and Tennis. Cristiano Ronaldo and his compatriot Lionel Messi have been listed as 5th and 6th, respectively. At the same time, top-seeded badminton player PV Sindhu has been ranked 7th. However, Sindhu's senior Saina Nehwal is on 8th position, whereas another dynamic cricketer KL Rahul has joined the elite list of players at the 9th position.
However, recently retired and flagbearer of women's Tennis in India, Sania Mirza is the last in the list as she has been ranked at 10th position. Notably, Sania Mirza, who had quite a successful tenure as a Tennis player, recently announced her retirement sending everyone in shock.
