The first Test between India and Sri Lanka is seeing some top knocks from India batters. Only into the first session of the second day, India have already added 111 runs to their overnight total and lost only one wicket. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin formed a century stand to help India cross the 450-run mark in the first innings.

While Ashwin departed after scoring his 12th Test half-century, Ravindra Jadeja continued his fine form and scored his second international century. The left-handed batter looked in supreme touch right from the start of his innings as he barely edged or mistimed his shots. Jadeja continued from where he left on Day 1 and first completed his half-century.

After crossing the 50-run mark, Jadeja got even better as he kept on scoring runs. He shortly completed his century by nudging the ball to covers and sneaking a single off Lasith Embuldeniya. The Saurashtra cricketer then brought up his famous 'sword celebration' to celebrate his century.

India continue to pile up!

Having already scored over 350 runs on Day 1, India continued to pile up in Sri Lanka's misery and 111 in the first session of Day 2. Jadeja and Ashwin did not miss a single opportunity to score runs. While Jadeja played watchful innings, Ashwin ensured that the boundaries keep coming for India. Before perishing to a short delivery from Suranga Lakmal, Ashwin scored 61 off 82 balls with the help of eight boundaries. The Ashwin-Jadeja duo also stitched the highest seventh-wicket partnership against Sri Lanka for India as they notched up a 130-run stand.

On the back of their strong partnership and handy contributions from Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant, India have already scored 468/7 at the end of the first session's play on Day 2. India still have centurion Jadeja and Jayant Yadav at the crease. Rohit Sharma will want to have a few more runs before he asks Sri Lanka to bat.
