The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be in never seen before avatar, and with two new entrants, it has already spread its wings. Recently, concluded IPL auctions have set the proper foundation for the month-long tournament. As expected, franchises put in millions in two-day mega-events to form a formidable team, but forming a squad for such competitive content demands a lot more than just money.

A video released by RCB on Sunday gives a glimpse of pre-auction preparation by the think tank who worked behind curtains. In a 3.20 long video, RCB Director of Cricket Mike Hesson can be seen stressing why signing Du Plessis will be an excellent move for them and predicts that Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will also make a hard attempt to rope in South African former skipper and dangerous batter.

Mike can be seen saying in the video that Faf will bring a lot of experience with him as he has won T20 titles before, making him the most sought-after player for the management. "Faf has the right character for crucial games. He has captained South Africa for a long, won the IPL many times and is a very consistent performer in the way he operates. He's a strong character and highly respected," Hesson says in the video.

Mike was also heard explaining to others that with the current squad and the uncertainty surrounding it, it will be a tremendous advantage for RCB to have the services of Faf for the upcoming season of IPL. In the video, RCB's think tank was seen preparing for the auctions while doing a demo bidding for Duplessis.

Royal Challengers Bangalore roped in former CSK star as their first signing at the IPL mega-auctions after investing a sum of Rs. 7 crores. Du Plessis had a phenomenal season for CSK last year as he ended up as the second-highest run-getter in IPL 2021 with 633 runs from 16 matches. RCB concluded the IPL auctions with 22 players in their squad. Having already retained former captain Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Siraj, RCB invested in Faf du Plessis, Dinesh Karthik, Josh Hazlewood, and Sri Lanka's spinner Wanindu Hasaranga among others.
