The 8th edition of Pro Kabaddi League kicked off on Wednesday and it did not take much time for fans to fall in love with the game once again. U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls played out an exciting season opener, with players producing some extremely breathtaking skills. From Pawan Sehrawat to Chandran Ranjit, the raiders were at their scintillating best but it was Abhishek Singh who stole the show.

The U Mumba raider came up with one of the best-ever individual performances in the history of the tournament. He scored an incredible 19 raid points (15 touch, 4 bonus) to guide his side to an emphatic 46-30 win over Bengaluru Bulls.

An exceptional performance by Abhishek Singh

With such a different looking squad from last season, U Mumba were relying heavily on Abhishek Singh to deliver the goods in the raiding department. And he certainly repaid the trust shown on him by the franchise in the first game itself!

The talented raider looked unstoppable in the season opener against Bulls as he came up with back-to-back successful raids every now and then. It was in the 17th minute of the contest when he produced a herculean effort which became the decisive moment of the match.

With his side on the cusp of an all-out, U Mumba needed a miracle from Abhishek Singh to hold on to their narrow lead. This is when their last-man-standing went for a raid and absolutely stunned the opposition. The right-raider showed unbelievable athleticism and reflexes to produce a remarkable super raid, getting 3 touch points and 1 bonus point in a single raid to prevent his side from getting all-out.
