
Australia Women registered their second win in three matches in the ongoing Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The defending champions defeated Pakistan Women by xx runs in match number nine of the tournament at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. It was Beth Mooney who turned out to be a star performer for Australia with her match-winning knock 109(114) runs after a shaky start. With the help of her knock, Australia Women posted 221/9 in their 50 overs. In reply Pakistan Women were bowled out for 114 runs in 36.3 overs.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Australia Women had a disastrous start as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The defending champions were restricted to 115/8 after 34 overs. After that, player of the match Beth Mooney took charge of the innings along with Alana King as the duo put up a partnership of 106 runs for the ninth wicket.

Beth Mooney shifted the momentum towards Australia Women with her game changing century. The left-hander scored 109 runs off 114 balls hitting 11 boundaries. On the other hand Alana Kings remained unbeaten on 51*(49) runs with three fours and three sixes as Australia posted a competitive total of 221 runs despite getting a shaky start. For Pakistan Women, Nashra Sandhu took three wickets, skipper Fatima Sana and Ramin Shameem took two wickets each while Diana Baig and Sadia Iqbal scalped a wicket each.
Chasing the winning target, Pakistan Women kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Sidra Ameen top scoring with 35(52) runs. In the end, Pakistan were bowled out for 114 runs in 36.3 overs. With this, Pakistan also suffered their third consecutive defeat in the ongoing Women’s World Cup
