In the third match of Asia Cup 2025 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Bangladesh defeated Hong Kong by eight wickets to kickstart their campaign with a win. Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Hong Kong didn’t get a quite good start as they lost opener Anshuman Rath (4 off 5) lost his wicket to Taskin Ahmed at the score of seven runs in 1.3 overs. In the fifth over, Hong Kong lost another wicket at the score of 30 runs as Babar Hayat got out after scoring just 14 runs. After that, Zeeshan Ali and Nizakat Khan added 41 runs for the third wicket Zeeshan got out after scoring 30 runs off 24 balls, while Nizakat scored 42(40) runs hitting two fours and a six. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain took two wickets each.

Chasing the winning target, Bangladesh got a steady start as they lost two wickets at the score of 47 runs in 5.4 overs. Both the openers, Tanzid Hasan Tamim (14 off 18), and Parvez Hossain Emon (19 off 14) left early before the end of the powerplay. After that, skipper Litton Das Towhid Hridoy took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 95 runs and ensured the victory for Bangladesh.

Litton Das got out when the team need just two runs to win after scoring 59 runs off 39 balls hitting six fours and a maximum. On the other hand, Hridoy scored a steady 35*(36) and ended up finishing the game for Bangladesh as they chased the target in 17.1 overs losing three wickets.
