On Friday, August 22, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced 16-member squad for the upcoming Men’s Asia Cup 2025. The continental tournament, which will be played in T20 format, will be played from September 9 to 28 in the UAE. Bangladesh have been placed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.

Ahead of the marquee tournament, BCB confirmed Bangladesh’s 16-member squad for T20 event and the upcoming T20I series against Netherlands. However, the side had earlier named a 25-member preliminary squad, but after a successful camp in Dhaka, the cricket board have confirmed their 16-men side.

Litton Das to lead Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2025; no place for Mehidy Hasan Miraz & Md Naim

While the side will be led by Litton Das, Bangladesh selectors have recalled wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan and all-rounder Saif Hassan in the senor men’s squad. Whereas the likes of veteran all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz and top-order batter Mohammad Naim could not find a place in the 16-men side.

The veteran Bangladesh all-rounder, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who was set to miss the T20I series against the Netherlands due to personal reasons, however, has been named in the standby list of players alongside Soumya Sarkar, Tanvir Islam and Hasan Mahmud. However, Nurul Hasan, who last played a T20I in the 2022 World Cup in Australia, returns after a brilliant performance in the Bangladesh Premier League, National Cricket League and the Global Super League.
