The Delhi Premier League has been a platform of opportunities for youngsters to make a name for themselves at the big stage. The last season of the DPL produced talents like Priyansh Arya who went on to do very well for Punjab Kings in the IPL, playing a crucial role for the team to reach the finals of the tournament. The DPL 2025 has started on a terrific note and a lot of youngsters have risen up to the occasion.

Another young star on the rise in the Delhi Premier League 2025 is the 17-year-old youngster Aaryavir Sehwag who was picked by the Central Delhi Kings in the DPL auction for ₹12 lakhs. Aaryavir Sehwag is the son of Virender Sehwag who is considered as one of the greatest openers for India. Aaryavir made his debut in the DPL against the East Delhi Riders and announced himself on the grand stage by scoring a 22 runs off 16 balls. In the post match interview, Aaryavir stated that he is keen on listening to the advice given by his father going into the final stages of the tournament.

I will try to stay longer in the middle next time: Aaryavir Sehwag

Aryaveer came to know that he was going to make his debut in the match against East Delhi Riders after Yash Dhull had to step back from the match due to his prior commitments in the Duleep trophy. Speaking about his debut, the 17-year old stated that, "It felt good. The first two boundaries gave me confidence and helped me settle in. But the innings wasn't that long. I will try to stay longer in the middle next time.”

Aaryavir is looking to bat deeper into the innings in the upcoming match and keep on working and developing himself step by step. Aaryavir further added, “We are aware that we are being monitored. The scouts have their eyes on us. But we don't think about it too much, especially when we are on the field. We just focus on the game.”
