It turned out to be a one-sided show as India defeated United Arab Emirates by 10 wickets in their opening game of the Asia Cup 2025 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. After bowling bowling UAE out for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs, the Indian batters didn’t take much time in finishing the game as they chased the winning target in just 4.3 overs.

Talking about the match, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav opted to bowl first after winning the toss. It turned out to be a great decision as the Indian bowlers didn’t let the UAE batters set on the crease and kept taking wickets on regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah gave India a first breakthrough by sending opener Alishan Sharafu back in the pavilion at the score of 26 runs in 3.4 overs. After that, none of the UAE batters could stay at the crease for long.

Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube shine as India registered convincing win

After the first wicket fell at the score of 26 runs, the Indian bowlers didn’t show any mercy for the UAE batters. For India, Kuldeep Yadav turned out to be a star performer with the figures of 4/7 in 2.1 overs, while Shivam Dube took three wickets conceding just four runs in two overs. Apart from that, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy scalped a wicket each.

The target of 58 runs was like cake walk for India and Abhishek Sharma made it easier as he smashed 30 runs off just 16 balls hitting two fours and three sixes. He added 48 runs for the first wicket with Shubman Gill in just 3.5 overs. After that, Shubman Gill and skipper Suryakumar Yadav gave finishing touches as India achieved the target in just 4.3 overs. Gill remained unbeaten on 20*(9) and Suryakumar smashed seven runs off just two deliveries.
