IPL 2023 mini-auction is all set to happen in Kochi on 23 December, starting at 2:30 PM IST. In the last few years, many IPL franchises have been indulged in bidding war to buy very high profile players and along with them many uncapped players have also been sold for a huge price considering the skill set they posses in this cash-rich league.
In tomorrow’s auction, among uncapped players, 282 names have been registered and some of them are expected to go for a very good price. Here in this article, we will have a look at some of the most expensive uncapped players in the past IPL auction before the bidding war on the D-Day.
1. Krishnappa Gowtham
The Karnataka all-rounder was bought by CSK franchise for a price of 9.25 Crores in the IPL 2021 auction. The all-rounder played a key-role for RR in IPL 2018 and performed well in domestic T20 league like KPL (Karnataka Premier League).
Krishnappa Gowtham set his base price as just 20 Lakhs initially but he went upto 9.25 crores in the auction due to heavy fight showed by teams like KKR & SRH as well bidding process. Gowtham despite being the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history didn’t play a single match for CSK in that season.
Note:- Krishnappa Gowtham made his international debut in Jul, 2021 vs Sri Lanka but first phase of IPL 2021 already was concluded with initial matches being played from 9th Apr to 2nd May.

2. Shahrukh Khan
The aggressive lower order batsman was released by Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2022 auction and thought of buying him at a even more lower price. But heavy bidding war from CSK also ensured that his final price rose to 9 crores in IPL 2022.
Shahrukh Khan was performing brilliantly with the bat in TNPL 2021, SMAT 2021/22 and Vijay Hazare 2021 season as well before the IPL 2022 auction thus his ability to go for attacking play helped him to get a good price value in IPL 2022 auction.

3. Rahul Tewatia
Rahul Tewatia, who impressed everyone as a hard-hitting finisher with bat for RR side, put himself in IPL 2022 auction and was bought by Gujarat Titans for a price of 9 crores.
Tewatia played a key role for RR side and won some crunch games. He did the same for GT as well by winning close thrilling games. Notably, Rahul Tewatia still hasn’t made his debut for India in international cricket.
Note:- Avesh Khan was bought for a price of 10 Crs in IPL 2022 auction by LSG team on 12th Feb 2022 when he was uncapped player but a week later, he made his T20I debut for India against West Indies (20th Feb) which happens before the start of IPL 2022.
