As the 2025 edition of the T20 franchise cricket league - the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) nears its knockout stage, in match number 23 of the tournament, Kieron Pollard once against bought his power-hitting to the front. Playing trade for the Trinbago Knight Riders, Pollard played an unbeaten 54 off 18 deliveries against the Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Sunday, September 7 (IST).

For the unversed, Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl first. As a result, Nicholas Pooran-led Knight Riders were put to add score first on the board. On the back of 53 from Shai Hope and an unbeaten 54 from Kieron Pollard, along with 30-ball 49 from Shimron Hetmyer, the Knight Riders posted 168 in 19.5 overs.

The veteran all-rounder hit his half-century off just 17 deliveries and finished with an unbeaten 54. During his 18-ball stay in the middle, he hit ten boundaries - five fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 300. In the final over of the innings, which was bowled by Romario Shepherd, the 38-year-old hit him for three consecutive boundaries which included two sixes and one four to reach his 50.

However, despite his heroics with the bat, his side went on to lose the game, thus registering their third loss. Despite the three-wicket defeat, the Nicholas Pooran-led side continue to dominate the standings, having qualified for the playoffs. The Trinbago Knight Riders will next face Barbados Royals on Friday, September 12 at the kensington OVal in Bridgetown, Barbados.
