An animal entering a ground during a cricket match is not a new thing. Even during international matches, there have been several instances where we saw animals like dogs, cats, foxes and even snakes enter the ground during a cricket match and thus putting a pause in the play. Recently, another video went viral on social media where a monkey was seen invading a local ground where young kids were practicing.
In a video, a monkey was seen running in the cricket ground creating chaos among young players as they also started running to defend themselves. However, the monkey kicked one kid and he lost his balance and fell on the ground. After that, the monkey went on to kick another kid as he also lost his balance. One of the kids also started crying after getting hit by the monkey as other kids were seen consoling him.
Instances when animal entered cricket ground
Although the video was from a local cricket academy, there also have been instances where the animals have invaded the cricket field during a cricket match. Recently, during the ongoing The Hundred 2025 competition in England, a fox was seen running towards the field during Oval Invincibles vs London Spirit clash at Lords Cricket Ground. Apart from that, there are several instances where dogs normally entered the pitch.
If this is also not enough, back in 2023, a Lanka Premier League clash in Sri Lanka’s R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was halted after a snake invaded the cricket ground. During the match between Galle Titans and Dambulla Aura, a snake was seen inside the cricket field causing horror among players as well as the fans.
