On April 24, 2026, Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma was seen at the Shri Govind Dev Ji Temple in Jaipur. The young Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener visited the temple along with his mother to seek blessings ahead of his team's IPL 2026 match against the Rajasthan Royals. Abhishek arrived at the temple to perform puja-archana and participate in the aarti. Fans gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the cricketer, leading to a crowded scene at the temple. As the crowd began to press in, Abhishek Sharma took an active role in ensuring his mother's safety.
He was seen using his arms to create a protective barrier around her, shielding her from the physical jostling of the mob.He kept her close to his side throughout the walk from the temple entrance to the inner sanctum, frequently checking on her to make sure she wasn't getting overwhelmed. During his visit, the temple committee honoured him and his mother by presenting them with a divine emblem of Govind Dev Ji. Despite the chaotic atmosphere, Abhishek remained calm and composed. While he was clearly focused on his mother, he did not lose his temper with the crowd. He politely requested fans to give them space so they could complete the darshan (viewing of the deity) safely.
