The man who gave me the best advice and whose advice I did the opposite of many times . Both worked. That’s how good he is. There is no manual on how to be great. But if there was, it would just be watching 24 years of Sachin paaji playing for our country. Happy birthday… pic.twitter.com/E5jv3QTNUW

Tributes Pour In As Legends Honour A Career That Redefined Indian Cricket
Sachin made his international debut in a Test match against Pakistan in Karachi on November 15, 1989, at the age of just 16 years and 205 days. He remains the youngest player to debut for India in Test matches. After that, he made his One-Day International debut on December 18, 1989, also against Pakistan. A major turning point in his career was when he began opening the batting in ODIs against New Zealand in 1994, where he smashed 82 off 49 balls. At that point in the game, the players weren’t expected to score boundaries from the start but Sachin Tendulkar redefined the unspoken practices in cricket. At the young age of 23, Sachin was given captaincy duty and at that age, many of the players aspired to wear the Indian jersey.
