Former Afghan speedster Shapoor Zadran is currently battling a life-threatening disease in New Delhi. The 38-year-old was diagnosed with Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a severe immune disorder that inflates and damages organs. Currently undergoing his treatment in India’s capital city, Zadran’s condition is critical and he has been admitted to the intensive care unit. Notably, the former Afghan player was diagnosed with the condition last year, and was advised to fly to India for the treatment.
Zadran came to India in January this year, after his medical visa was fast tracked with the help of Afghanistan Cricket Board officials and players such as Rashid Khan. While his health has shown a few recovery phases, the former cricketer’s complications have worsened his situation. As per reports, the infection has spread in his body along with tuberculosis and dengue, further weakening his immune system.
