Recently, the Royal Challengers Bangalore won their second IPL title, and this was their first consecutive title triumph. They beat the mighty Gujarat Titans in what was clearly much anticipated and widely watched IPL final. Big contribution came from every department of the game, including batting bowling and fielding. While Virat Kohli let the honours with the bat, scoring and unbeaten half century, there was a true came that came from the bat of the mighty Australian batter Tim David.

A useful knock of 24 runs that came up off just 17 deliveries featured one mighty six and an overall strike rate that was north of 141.

But this was not the first occasion where Tim David had played an important innings. Been inform at different stages of rendering useful contributions for RCB down the order.

However, there was an incident during the game which has earned Tim David enough points that would lead him to be suspended from the very next IPL game that he comes down for. After he threw an ice pack aggressively during the direction of the empire while feeling in the 10th over during Gujarat Titans’ batting, he committed an ICC breach of conduct offence that has now earned him a strict reprimand.

On the whole, the incident surely meant that Tim David had most certainly breached Article 2.9 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. The same relates to "throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment such as a water bottle) at or near a Player, Team Official, Umpire, Match Referee or any other third person in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during a Match."

Overall, he collected 5 demerit points and that basically means being incurring suspension from the very next IPL contest, which in Tim David’s case is the very first game that he and his Royal Challengers Bengaluru play in the IPL 2027 edition.

That being said, it ought to be remembered that David first incurred a demerit point during the 20th match of the competition that recently came to an end and then on the 54th contest of the Indian Premier League as seen in its 2026 conception.

Not a great start certainly for someone who’s earned a name for becoming a power hitter and someone who hits sixes for fun. Isn’t it? What do you reckon?

Tim David is a fun character. He is an aggressive batter and he loves the game he lives so dearly for. I have, he needs to understand that there is always a message and a direction of inspiration that young Cricketers tend to learn when they watch cricketers like him, and their conduct on the field. This incident certainly was no positive in any which way.
