Now that the famed Indian Premier League in its 2026 conception is over, the big focus now lies on what’s next for Indian cricket on the whole? What is it that we are going to see and when can we see Indian Cricket Team back in action? What are the next Cricket Team tour is going to be like, what do they seem like? How many Test matches, how many one-day Internationals as well as how many T20 Internationals is the Indian cricket team going to be playing? After what has been a cricket season utterly dominated by Franchise Cricket’s peak in the form of the IPL which took nearly 3 months and hence a quarter of a year in 2026- the big shift is about to as far as the Indian Cricket Team is concerned.

And what can be brilliant, then finding the fact that Indian Cricket Team is going to be participating in as many as 10 Test matches, 21 One-Day Internationals and 23 T20 Internationals. This is what the Indian Team’s schedule looks like until the next edition of the Indian Premier League, ie, IPL 2027. Now that is a lot of Cricket, especially where the BCCI and its main full crib of Cricket, that is the Indian team is concerned. Just the kind of schedule that some of the not so busy teams as far as the International cricket including the West Indies and maybe Zimbabwe and New Zealand are concerned.

But having said that the very next or immediate assignment for the Indian cricket on the whole is a forthcoming series against Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Cricket Team are going to be in India very soon and one of Test match is going to be followed by three separate one day internationals. The one off Test match is going to take place at Dharamsala.

The continuation of the India Afghanistan Cricket ties is a boost to the developing relation between the two neighbouring countries that has been place since nearly a decade back in time. And to series is going to offer a worthy amount of practice to both sides in lines with the development and road to the next ICC Men’s ODI cricket World Cup that is to take place next year in 2027.

India’s ambition is to lift that coveted title having last won a fifty over World Cup in 2011. Since then it’s been England and Australia that have been found to be utterly dominant in the format of the contest.

But for now, the focus should remain on what is clearly a busy schedule for the Indian cricket team, it’s Bastion of Cricket that hardly ever seems to rest, and is forever a early engaged in one of the most dynamic and comparative Sports that there is a global level. What do you reckon?
