The Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with their arch-rival Mumbai Indians in Match 44 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on 2nd May 2026.

In the recent MI vs CSK, CSK made history by achieving a 103-run victory in Wankhede Stadium. Sanju Samson’s Unbeaten 101* took CSK’s total to 207/6, and Akeal Hosein’s four-wicket haul bowled MI out at 104.

Considering that the match at Chepauk is going to be an interesting contest in the so called El Clasico of IPL.

Sanju Samson has been the highlight and top performer for CSK in their games. After fumbling in first few games, Samson has regained back his form like in T20 World Cup Campaign and has amassed 304 runs in just eight games for CSK along with two centuries, one of which came against MI at Wankhede too. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s form has been the weak link the squad but in last match against GT he scored a fifty although CSK lost the game. Injured Ayush Mhatre can be replaced by impact player Urvil Patel in top order

Middle order - Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, Kartik Sharma, Jamie Overton

Dewald Brevis has been struggling for consistency as he has just comtibuted 64 runs in four games. Shivam Dube has not been able to make big scores as a finisher which he normally does, also not his best form as against Spin hitting nd has just amassed 150 runs for the team. Kartik Sharma too only has 58 runs. Only positive has been Jamie Overton with an all round performance of 9 wickets and 136 runs to his name.

Bowlers - Akeal Hosein, Anshul Khamboj, Noor Ahmed, Gurjapneet Singh, Mukesh Choudhury

As usual, CSK has a very strong spin attack in their bowling lineup led by Akeal Hosein and Noor Ahmad, having six and seven wickets respectively this season. In the recent historic 103 victory pf CSK over MI, Akeal’s four wicket haul bowled MI out at 104. Anshul Khamboj is the leading wicket taker in pace department with 14 wickets in his bag and Mukesh Choudhury is also known to give major breakthroughs when needed.
