India were invited to bat first during their second T20 World Cup fixture by Namibia who won the toss in the middle. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson came out to bat for the Men in Blue and got India’s to a flying start. After an eight run first over, Sanju Samson came out all guns blazing against Ben Shikongo in the second over and scored 16 runs in three balls before getting out on the last delivery.
After Sanson’s departure, Ishan Kishan took matters in his own hands and started off with aggressive instincts. Kishan started to take on all the ballers and kept the scoreboard rotating with a few singles and boundaries. Kishan is being labelled as the pocket dynamo for his masterclass innings against Namibia. Tilak Verma joined forces with him and complemented him with a few fours and sixes here and there. Kishan switched to the fifth gear in the last over of the power play against JJ Smit. After a dot ball in the first delivery, Kishan took down Smit with four back-to-back sixes and a boundary on the last ball.
It was a 28 run over by JJ Smit as Kishan brought up his half century in just 20 balls. He raced his fifty in the blink of an eye and pushed Namibia on the backfoot. This was the second time when Ishan Kishan has scored a fifty in the first six overs for India in a T20 game. He then took on Max Heingo in the next over and scored 11 runs in three balls before losing his wicket to Gerhard Erasmus.
