Delhi Capitals’ batter KL Rahul recorded his sixth IPL ton during the clash against Punjab Kings. Both sides clashed in the 35th clash of the game at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi in the afternoon clash of Saturday's double-header. The game saw home skipper Axar Patel win the toss and let his side put the score on the board first. The Capitals, who were coming off a blowout loss to the SunRisers Hyderabad, got off to a disappointing start.
They lost their opener Pathum Nissanka at 11 runs in just seven balls during the third over. However, KL Rahul and Nitish Rana held on to the crease firmly and came up with their respective fifties. But, that was just the beginning as Rahul went on to register his 6th IPL hundred. He required 47 balls for the same, and achieved the feat by hitting a four off Marco Jansen delivery in the 15th over.
This marked Rahul’s fastest IPL hundred, with the previous fastest being in 56 balls against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne in 2022.

KL Rahul surpasses Virat Kohli to grab top spot in Orange Cap holder’s standing
With his hundred, Rahul also moved at the top spot of Orange Cap leaderboard, surpassing RCB’s Virat Kohli. The former LSG skipper now has 340* runs with seven innings, at an average of 56.67. Not only this, but the talismanic batter also recorded his highest score for the season at 135* ( as of writing). In addition to this, the 34-year-old now has the highest individual score for DC in the IPL. The previous highest was Rishabh Pant’s 128* against SRH at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in 2018.
This isn’t it! During the game, Rahul built a crucial 220-run stand with Nitish Rana for the third wicket in just 95 deliveries. Rana was dismissed at 91 runs off 44 balls, missing his well-deserving 100 by just nine runs.
