During India’s warm-up game against a Sri Lanka Cricket XI in Colombo, Kuldeep Yadav found himself in the middle of an unexpected wrestling scenario. While fielding, he collided with Sri Lankan all-rounder Keshara Nuwantha and both of them went tumbling over. For a few seconds the two players were up on the ground before getting back to their feet. Thankfully, no one was hurt in this collision. The whole thing turned into comedy on the field. Both players just got up, brushed it off, and carried on like nothing had happened Kuldeep even continued his bowling after this. This incident has gone viral on social media with fans loving the light hearted moment.

Yadav bowled 18 overs and picked up two wickets in the warm-up match. He has got the bowling workload and rhythm and Team India will be hoping he can put up an impactful performance in the first Test. In the absence of Washington Sundar, there will be more pressure on Kuldeep Yadav to deliver considering the number of left handers in the Sri Lankan side. The first Test will start on August 15 and on Day 3, India will have another 45 overs to bowl against Sri Lanka XI.

Devdutt Padikkal dominates Day 2 against Sri Lanka XI in warm-up match

Left hand batter, Devdutt Padikkal stole the show on Day 2 of the warm up match. Walking into bat after Jaiswal was dismissed for a duck, he built a 96 run partnership with KL Rahul and later put on a stand with Ravindra Jadeja. The Karnataka batter reached his century and looked in solid touch. He completed his century in just 121 balls before getting retired-out. India brought back the left-hander late in the day and he finished unbeaten on 142 as India reached 357/6 at the end of Day 2.

The third and final day will be split into two halves with Sri Lanka XI likely to bat 45 overs to try and set a target while India will also get their chance later in the day. The only concern for India would be the fitness of their captain Shubman Gill who did not bat in the match and with the first Test in less than a week, the management will be sweating on his fitness. India are placed fifth in the WTC points table and this upcoming two match series against Sri Lanka is very crucial for them to have any chances of going deep in the WTC cycle.
