Royal Challengers Bangalore’s one-sided win against DC has entered the history books as the second-most dominant chases in IPL. Chasing a total of 76 on board, RCB chased the target in 6.4 overs with 81 balls spare, making it the second most successful and comfortable run chase in IPL history. The only instance ahead was KKR vs MI in Wankhede 2008, when KKR scored a 68 and MI won by 8 wickets with 87 balls remaining.
Delhi Capitals had no reply to RCB’s rip apart bowling tonight. Losing the toss, DC came down to bat and within no time Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood created havoc with their fiery spells, resulting in the lowest IPL powerplay score ever, 13/6. Both these bowlers took 7 wickets today. Only for Abhishek Porel’s 30(33) DC could dodge IPL’s lowest total and an embarrassment, putting up a 75. But that was not enough as RCB easily chased down that total without a scratch on their forehead.
